Hodo's Cajun Veggie Burger

You can easily make your version of our Cajun burger at home using Hodo’s original Tofu Veggie Burger! It’s a Louisiana-inspired twist on our already outrageously delicious veggie burger. Wholesome and ‘meaty’, each Cajun patty provides more than a third of your daily protein needs and rivals any traditional quarter pounder.



Ingredients

  • Cajun spice blend (recipe follows)

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup vegetable stock

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2 (4oz) Hodo Tofu Veggie Burger patties Locate Product

  • 2 toasted burger buns

  • Vegan mayo

  • Roasted red pepper strips

Cajun Spice Blend Recipe

  • 2 tbsp paprika

  • 2 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp onion powder

  • 1 tbsp cayenne

  • 1 tbsp dried oregano

  • 1 tbsp dried thyme

  • 2 tbsp salt

  • 1 tbsp mushroom powder

  • 1 tbsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together the Cajun spice blend, soy sauce, vegetable stock, and lemon juice.

  2. Place the veggie burger patties in the marinade, flipping them over a few times to completely coat. Let marinate for at least an hour, flipping the patties halfway through.

  3. Heat a grill pan over high heat (spray with cooking spray to prevent sticking). Grill the patties for a few minutes on each side until hot and crisp with grill marks on the outside. Transfer to a plate.

  4. To assemble, place a hot patty on top of a bun, spread with vegan mayo, and top with roasted red bell pepper strips. Cover with the top bun, repeat for the second serving, and enjoy hot!
