Sabich Sandwich

Yields: 2 Servings

From The Hodo Kitchen

The Sabich Sandwich! Inspired by a dish at one of our oldest restaurant partners in North Berkeley, @Sauls_Delicatessen, we came up with a quick and simple version using our #HodoHarissaCubes! For years, we had a farmers market stand every Thursday in front of Sauls!

Sabich Halabi was an Iraqi Jew who was known to have the first sabich stand in Tel Aviv. Originally eaten on the sabbath, since all ingredients are pre-prepared!

Ingredients

  • 1 (8oz) package of Harissa Cubes (can sub Moroccan Cubes) locate product

  • 1/4 large eggplant, cubed

  • Israeli Salad (recipe below)

  • 2 Pitas (can use GF pitas)

  • Hummus
