Hodo Wins Sustainability Award

Hodo is celebrating Earth Month 2022 with the prestigious Acterra Business Environmental Award! We’re making an impact with not only our low-waste production methods and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions but also for how we’re changing American diets. And that’s why Acterra presented Hodo with the Sustainable Food Systems Leadership Award.

It’s In the Name - Hodo Means “Good Bean”

We source organic, North American grown, non-GMO soybeans that are higher in protein than commodity soybeans. Organic agriculture is important for the environment and our farmers continually improve their agricultural practices by reducing tillage, rotating crops, stewarding for biodiversity, and more.

Waste Not, Want Not 🗑️

We work hard to minimize energy and water usage, designing closed loop cooling systems as well as other renewable (steam) and passive (natural lighting) systems. We adopt a zero-waste philosophy in our factory (which by the way, we affectionately call the Beanery). Our main ingredient, soybeans, produces pulp, also known as okara, which is upcycled as an important source of certified organic feed.
